One in the Spirit TEAM BUILDING FOR MINISTRIES—COURSE BOOK
“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.”—1 Corinthians 12:12 “Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishment toward organizational (church) objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” Andrew Carnegie
One of the skills children learn in school today is working together as a team.
Working together as a team is essential in the workforce and it is just as vital in the church house. Your ministry is a team and you have to work together to make your ministry a well-oiled machine. Each member has gifts that can be shared to enhance the ministry. It is important for the head of the ministry to take note of each members’ talents.
“Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.” – 1 Corinthians 12:15-19
We all have gifts and talents to be used for the building up of the church. Knowing the skills of your ministry members is important toward building a secure ministry. God is a God of order.
