Pastoral Care

Pre-Marriage Pastoral Care

Marriage is a ministry that should not be entered into lightly. People get married for many reasons; money, sex, business and some actually enter into marriage with the friend that they love. The marriages that have lasted 20, 30, 50 years or more were not perfect but the couple fought for their relationship through positive communications, patience in the rough times, standing by their mate even when the mate does not seem to stand by them. Relationships with longevity are not easy but they are worth the journey.

Pre-Marriage Pastoral Care is done in 8 sessions or as many as the couple needs.

Schedule sessions at least one year prior to your wedding date

Each couple receives their own Pre-Marriage booklet
Sessions are 1-2 hours in length
Various exercises are woven into the sessions

Fee $250 for 8 sessions and $50 for each additional session.

Weddings

Marriage is a ministry, a partnership and is not to be entered into lightly. Marriage is about more than just the one day as beautiful as that day may be. In these economic times it makes more sense to plan a small gathering and use extra monies for building your future. Too many couples spend $12,000 and up for their wedding day only for the marriage to last a year or less and the marriage becomes a $12,000 lesson.

Weddings are performed once the couple has gone through Pre-Marriage Pastoral Care.

Fee $300

(The couple is responsible for the extra fee if the minister has to travel and lodge at the wedding location.)

Reverend Outlaw will come to your venue to perform weddings.

Homegoings (Funerals)

A funeral is a sad occasion but a Homegoing is a celebration of the deceased person’s life. When the life breath leaves a person’s mortal body it returns back to God who gave it. Homegoings can be done in a church or a funeral home. In a memorial service where the deceased is cremated the ceremony can be held in a home. The minister will meet with the family to discuss arrangements and can provide a Service outline.

Fee $250

(The family is responsible for the extra fee if the minister has to travel and lodge out of Washington, DC.

Thought is given to those who are struggling financially.)

House Blessings

To a people of faith it is important to have peace in the home. Peace comes from within a person. The house blessing is to dispel any negative forces that may enter the home or that may have already been in the house.During the blessing it is important to have all that live under the roof to be present for the blessing. This is a blessing of the land but also a blessing of all those who live on the land.

Fee $50

(The family is responsible for the extra fee if the minister has to travel and lodge out of Washington, DC.)

Naming Ceremonies

As we move through this journey called life, circumstances and events happen that change us. Sometimes we become aware of a higher spiritual understanding of who we are. At times people take a name that is different from their birth name as a rites of passage. This is a crossing over into a new you. It can be a change in values, morals, or spiritual thinking. You can take the name of your ancestors from your cultural or native background. The name chosen should have a meaning that will lead you into your new understanding of life and your purpose for being. In the traditions of the ancient cultures the minister can choose the name after talking with the one requesting the change.

Fee $75

(The family is responsible for the extra fee if the minister has to travel and lodge out of Washington, DC.)

Christenings

When a new life comes into the world it is important to families of faith to have that child blessed. A christening is the family/the village coming together welcoming a new life into the community. It is a show of support to the child that everyone will be a part of educating and loving that child into adulthood.

Fee $75

(The family is responsible for the extra fee if the minister has to travel and lodge out of Washington, DC.)
